Heritage Minutes are dramatic interpretations of pivotal events in Canada’s history. These 60-second vignettes commemorate notable Canadians, achievements in innovation, and instances of perseverance and bravery. They are intended to entertain, educate and encourage further research into our nation’s past. Classroom resources, including background information for each Minute and select lesson plans, can be found at

Heritage Minutes were created by The CRB Foundation in 1991 and re-launched by Historica Canada in 2012. After more than two decades on air and online, Heritage Minutes are treasured by Canadians young and old. They are “A Part of Our Heritage.”
